I forget what the mean and the difference...

    What is the difference between AF-S, AF-D and AF

    and what do they mean, I've forgotten and cant seem to find the answer.

    Search may not help you much because there is no "AF-D" I don't know why people keep writing it. ;)

    AF-S and AF are the two Autofocus designators (guess which has a silent wave motor).

    D and G are lens designators, the D indicating digital control, the G indicating the same thing but without an aperture ring.

    A lens is usually "AF-S G" or "AF D" or the reason I am raising the mistake is because quite a few "AF-S D" lenses also exist.

    Are we supposed to believe you guys have NEVER EVER asked a question on a forum when the answer could also be found on Google?

    Nooooooo, but there's a certain level of obviousness that deserves such responses.
