I need a font. any advice.

I am currently creating a antique looking US map for a book publisher to go with a book soon to come out and I am in dire need of any suggestions on what font to use. I suck much ass at creating my own typography...not the best area of my graphic education. I've been looking at old western style fonts but any suggestions or links or emails with the font included would be hella-cool. BTW i use a MAC.

I dunno what font you'd need but try www.dafont.com and have a look there.

Just a suggestion but i think it looks oldy worldy, you have to pay for it though sadly

Yup V...the "cezanne" it getting very very close but yeah the price tag SUCKS!!

Ahh fonts... I love em as much as I hate them. Script fonts can get tough to read. Consider size and readability. Maybe handwritten would be the way to go. It may give the map a more authentic feel. Of course make sure you have all the parts. Bad fonts can kill a job.
