i tried going ftp://theiphere. I get a login window, but it doesnt work. So mabey I just dont have permission like it says I may not?

If you need to use internet explorer, do the following:

ftp://username:password@theipaddress

Otherwise, go download a freebiee FTP program from some place like www.download.com wsftp is pretty good and the light version is free.

You can easily add an ftp site as a network place through My Network Places. Double click on it, (assuming windows XP here), on the left menu choose "Add Network Place", and go through the wizard. Then the ftp site can be a folder on your desktop, a shortcut, and once you enter your usernname and password, you can save it, and just double click this folder to connect each time.

This is if you don't want to use a program of course.

Mine for work starts with http:\\www.-------------
My RC Car Club is an IP address
My old personal website is the traditional ftp:\\ftp.-------

All are with different providers!
