This doesn't do too much for me. Perhaps if there were some "hidden" subject in the reflection of the lens it would have more depth or maybe if you focused more on the interesting textures (the little ridges on the outside of the lens?).

Yeah, The original intention of this shot was to show the condition of the glass surface, I've just grown a little fond of it is all.

As far as the compositional aspects you mentioned, the focus if out of my capability, I am an MF photographer, I don't practice with specialty focuses under AF use, I'm just generally happy if the bloomin thing finds the right subject. As for the message in the glass it would have been distracting in the pics original function but had this been a planned shot I proly would have done such, Then again I would have used a different camera MF capable to boot so...
