I just clicked purchase on the Nikon 24-70 f2.8. Even though I know I won't regret it, please reinforce that fact to me.

Less than 2 yrs ago I had the same feeling on purchasing my first $600 lens.

It was killing me not having a fast zoom in weddings though. As much as I like the primes, sometimes you just can't move to get in there where you need to.

My husband may kill me too. I confessed, but thank god we have seperate checking accounts!

I looked over and over at the Sigma, but where it fell short were the places that I couldn't risk not performing in. Hopefully it pays for itself soon!

So, my 35mm and 70-300 are for sell for anyone interested!!

You know you did the right thing. Nikon glass is always a good thing. Try not to worry. You will love it!

Speaking of, how much do you want for the 35 and 70-300?

Relax...the 24-70 has optical performance that surpasses the 24/2.8 AF-D, the 28/2.8 F-D,and the 35/2 AF-D, and equals the 50 1.8 AF-D, plus it encompasses twenty separate focal lengths above 50mm! Think of it this way: you just bought Nikon's best 24, 28,and 35mm lenses, in one tube! Plus you get a spectacular 50mm lens, and all the added framing convenience of twenty millimeters between fifty and seventy! What's not to like?

Well, the new glass is on backorder and evidently has been for some time after doing a search. So, not only did I make a bigass purchase, now I get to wait for some undetermined amount of time.

Until then I need to keep the 35mm, but the 70-300 VR can be sold now. For it I also have the polarizer, UV, warming and infrared filters. New it was all $680. I would like $575 for all of it or best offer.

The lens has only been used about 6 or 7 times and I can dig up the box and soft lens case as well.

I'm going for the poor man's trinity though.

Trust me, I understand. That's why all my prime glass is just a little less than the top end. They are cheap!
I figure if I want to play in a big boys world, I gotta do it eventually. The last 2 weddings I was at with low-lit, tight areas kicked my butt with my equipment. I got nice shots, but I also couldn't frame in as tight as I needed or get wide as I needed. I also had some problems with the 35 f2.0 with slow focusing.

I don't want my equipment to make me fall short.

It's a great little lens. I use it or my 50 1.8 on all my portrait work. I will let you know when the new lens arrives, cause I can't bear to part with it until then :)

I have the 28-70 2.8, and if the 24-70 is even remotely close to the build quality & IQ, you will drop all doubts once you have it in your hands... I promise.
