I think it is an okay shot; I would try to shoot in a place where there is nice soft light. In this shot you have harsh light shining through the leaves and leaving "hot spots" (over-exposed areas) on your faces. It is distracting.
About the selective coloring. I don't understand why you only have some places converted and not all of one color.
I don't think SC works with this shot. What does it do for it? What is the purpose? Sometimes I think it works.... 90 percent of the time I think photographers use it poorly.
Well, you got it to work - great! I do think that maybe if you colored say, the shorts of the girl and the glasses of the you (right?) and then maybe just the leaves on the trees? That might be very cool!
I checked out your flickr and you have some excellent photos in there. I still love that one with the cute baby hand!
