As long as I have lived in this area, this was the first St Patrick's Day parade I've ever been to. I arrived late because....I could list a whole slew of excuses here....just because. And then it started spitting rain.

Its always on March the 17th, I'd love to go into the city tomorrow and get some shots of the Dublin Parade, but I have been off work sick the past few weeks.

You gotta love the Helping Hands Mission Marching Band. They are a fixture of Raleigh area parades.

4 is my favorite. And number 11 has me wanting to go to Tir Na Nog for a pint of Guinness.

It was fun, but the funny part was all the looks I got. I was carrying the D300 with 70-200mm lens and the D80 with 24-70mm lens. As I was making my way through the crowds, I felt like Moses parting the Red Sea when they saw my gear. Never have been concerned with such, but it made for interesting dynamics.
