I'm am a relatively new photographer. I got a new camera roughly three or four months ago. It is a Nikon D40X. I thought it would be a nice camera to get me started. I love it so far. As a fellow beginner I think the pictures are all quite good. My personal favorite is "City Life", although in B&W it might look better.
As I'm a beginner too, I cannot give you much constructive advice at this point, but I can tell you that you have the thing which I think is most important for a beginner - the will to experiment and play around.
