ID this spider

    I found this guy on my deck hand rail, lucky for me it was cold out so she was not in a fighting mood. Anyway, I thought she needed to have her picture taken. What do you think?

    Cross spider? (Garden spider) Looks like first pic in this thread. http://www.thephotoforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=135680

    I gotta tell you. I'm diggin' the background. It looks like a galactic spider.

    The color and detail on the abdomen is kickin. What is that on the back? It looks like a droplet of water.

    Well the water is bug spray I have a 4 year old who likes bugs and I did not what it anywhere around him. The background is my white fence and the dark part is the yard on the other side.

    Im going to have to say it is some species of orb weaver, almost looks like the tropical orb weaver.

    yeah i agree, some kind of orb spider. I'm taking a guess and I think I remember the Garden Orb Web Spider.
