I'm taking a photography class in college and for our final assignment, I have to shoot 3-4 rolls of B&W film based off of one single theme. I cannot figure one out at all.

I thought of doing billboards, but I don't know that I can shoot 3 rolls of interesting billboards. Then I tried at the dog park but with the owners trying to get their dogs to roll over and sit, it was just frustrating. I was thinking of roaming around downtown Minneapolis and getting some shots of houses that are run down, which would mean me in some less-safe neighborhoods. I would need someone to come with me and time is so short that I don't really have that option.

The weather is beautiful so I would love to do this outside. Any ideas would be wonderful! Thanks ahead of time!!!!

Might be kind of lame ... but how about the old huge mansions along Minnehaha Parkway, Harriet, Calhoun and lake of the Isles?

How many "S" shapes can you find in right angle architecture using different perspectives?

pick something thats very abundant for your theme,
that way you can spend your time picking the "right" ones and honing your talent,
not driving around for hours trying just to find the darn things....

I think i'm gonna go with cemetaries. I know of some really neat, old ones. Though I do really like the idea of old mansions...

I like people. If you're in college, you shouldn't have any trouble taking four rolls of shots of people killing time. Or, perhaps people on cell phones?

I like churches. You can compare and contrast the catholic cathedrals to the baptist "four walls and a steeple" churches... You can take photos of the statues inside, maybe do some contrast with stained glass and light shining through. And maybe with permission get some photos during a mass (I don't know how cool that is to do, that might be sac religious or something)... Church pictures in black and white can look really cool in a Gothic sort of way.

    Cars and traffic

Millions of cars roaming about creating traffic.

A little mundain maybe but plentiful to the point that it can be thought out and complete in a hurry if need be.

Do a plant study. Bring plants home and set up a backdrop of sorts, set up lighting (natural, lamp, et al) and fire away.
