Hmmm Black Jacks & fruit salad chews! I really miss them!:([/quote said:
Until recently they were made in my home town. You would always get a whiff of either fruit salad, black jacks or mint imperials depending upon which way the wind blew at the time! A similar sweet of the time were Mojo's, usually in chocolate or mint flavours and 4 for a penny!

Cadbury's Ice Breaker bars. Chocolate with a minty brittle in the middle!
Jublees (frozen triangular lolly things in a cardboard wrapper) that seemed massive at the time. Ring pulls that were in two pieces so you could flick the ring part.
On a more mature side note we had a pornography store on my route home from school when I was about 8 years old. Unlike todays blacked out emporiums this had all it's wares in the window with a sheet of yellow acetate lending decorum! We were quite fascinated by this stuff, about which we had no idea, but knew that we shoudln't have our faces pressed up against the window!

I grew up right in the middle.

I grew up without a computer, but got one early enough to adapt to it.

I still remember the early days of the Internet.

I rode my bike without a helmet and broke my arms on school equipment, and nobody was sued. But as I grew up we were careful not to cause any real damage.

I remember the days of 80s music and bad haircuts, but I'm young enough to appreciate the Futurama and Family Guy.

Oh yeah, I remember the days before digital camera. :D

That is cute! I have to say that I can relate to a lot of those experiences. I never believed that one generation was better than another. In 2023 folks will be coming up with clever posts about their generation. I am proud of my childhood experiences only because of the way I was brought up. I am not strong enough to judge how kids these day run there lives. I will shut now, because my wife just slapped my knuckles with a wooden spoon. If I claim child abuse she will hit me even harder.

Anyway, I thought this was a cute related deal

YOU KNOW YOU ARE LIVING IN 2006 when...

1. You accidentally enter your password on the
microwave.

2. You haven't played solitaire with real cards in
years.

3. You have a list of 15 phone numbers to reach your
family of 3.

4. You e-mail the person who works at the desk next to
you.

5. Your reason for not staying in touch with friends
and family is that they don't have e-mail addresses.

6. You pull up in your own driveway and use your cell
phone to see if anyone is home to help you carry in
the groceries.

7. Every commercial on television has a web site at
the bottom of the screen.

8. Leaving the house without your cell phone, which
you didn't have the first 20 or 30 (or 60) years of
your life, is now a cause for panic and you turn
around to go and get it.

10. You get up in the morning and go on-line before
getting your coffee

11. You start tilting your head sideways to smile. : )

12. You're reading this and nodding and laughing.

13. Even worse, you know exactly to whom you are going
to forward this message.

14. You are too busy to notice there was no ..9 on this
list.

15. You actually scrolled back up to check that there
wasn't a ..9 on his list.

AND NOW U R LAUGHING at yourself.
