I have been fighting with my Sb 600 for weeks now, my holiday shots are toast-ruined with the camera's flash. So I go hunting around online today trying to find out why it won't fire correctly etc...I get on www.kenrockwell.com (great site) andI found the problem: my batteries were low. What a retard.

lol bad luck, at least it won't happen again. I think

It has happened to me before too. I wish they would provide a battery gauge for the flashes. I mean the battery could go low at anytime with no warnings. This is especially true with NiMh batteries.

What was it doing? Was it just lower power?

Let me just say this before you get in too deep: the following instructions are the best thing you will ever do for your photography...

(this assumes your using Windows)

1. Go to Start > Run
2. Type in notepad "c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts"
3. At the bottom of the file just opened, type in 127.0.0.1 kenrockwell.com
4. Go to File > Save, close it and never think about it again

since the topic came up...
It's good site, but EXTREMELY subjective. If you want to know opinions or one photographer's way of doing/look at thing, then its good but take what he says and scrutinize it b/c as nice as his reviews are, they are still one man's opinion - VERY SUBJECTIVE.

situations like these teach wonderful lessons that go a long way and are not quickly forgotten. if this happened to me, i would not have told anyone about
