I need to provide a client with images in vector (specifically requested by his printer). From today's research I have established what "vector" means, and I downloaded the program Inkscape as directed.

Do I simply "Save as" a svg file, or do I need to do something with bitmap or something? Keep it mind I honestly have 0 idea what a bitmap really is..

    thanks!

You can also do it in Adobe Illustrator. It's called "Live Trace".
