Shot in bright, direct sunlight, this one was a challenge. Both the exposure and the post processing. Though I fought the extreme high contrast tooth-and-nail, I believe we are still left with plenty. Too much?

As usual, any aesthetic critique is also appreciated.

as always, you pictures are a cruel depiction of the misery that is life. it is a way of photographing. to me, this looks like a contest entry. so, congratulations, you could win! but i don't like the kind of approach to photography. Maybe it's because i'm young and still like to think life is peachy...

good pic, anyway. cluttered but in all the right places.

I like it a lot as all of your pics but because it's the critique forum here's some critique: To me it is too much contrast (more tones would look great but for direct sunlight it's very good) and I think that you've cropped it (right?) cause it's almost a square, IMO it would be nice to see a bit more of the child on the right side of the pic.

I have to disagree. All we see of people in this picture are their legs - to show more than that for the child would undo the effect.

    It's a very impactful photograph.

I meant the second leg, it would be nice to me if it wouldn't be cut.
