Thanks guys! I see a butterfly myself.

My setup was:

Black foam board as the background. Incense cone that was on a block about two feet in front of the backdrop. I had a regular desk lap shining on it at a 45 degree angle so that I didn't get light on the background. That was on the right sside. On the left I had my SB-600 with a home made snoot pointed at the smoke and set up with a wireless trigger. I used my Nikkor 18-105mm, shot at F11, 1/1250, and manually focused!

Awww why ty I am so in love with smoke photography and finally found a set up that works. I am sure more will be posted in the near future. Lol
