Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
If you've viewed any of the other climbing photos i've posted here, you have probably noticed that i've settled into a bit of a PP groove.
and maybe you haven't noticed.. but i feel like im riding in a groove of sorts(for better or worse)

any suggestions for improving this "style"??
i know i allways ask for it, but some negative feedback would really motivate me!! thanks

Sweet!
I really appreciate the effort you guys have extended in order to help me improve.
I feel like clawing my way to the darkest forum depths and letting my username lay motionless suffocating beneath the piles of html tangled in all the wasted text.
I don't have much a reason to hang around here if I can't effect someone enough to speak up, and criticize my pics.

*the above rant is directed soley towards the 40ish ppl who allready viewed this thread. And the tone therein may also be SLIGHTLY affected by how bad of a mood I'm in....

Man I'm in a sh]tty mood. I tried to think of a picture to take that would represent as sh(tty a mood...naa too much effort required..

I expected to see porn spam with that title, to be honest.

The first doesn't do much for me. I can appreciate the difficulty of hanging there and the image is fine technically, but it's mostly leg and that's not very exciting.

I much prefer the second one - being able to see her face clearly is nice and I like the expression of intense concentration you caught.

I feel your pain. I replied to this but decided to create a whole new thread:
http://thephotoforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=114573

BTW, I like both shots. The colors are great! I agree the 1st shot, the "pose" looks unnatural, or awkward. (Which I'm sure a lot of climbing is awkward)

Well, sorry for being asleep in my bed at night (which has only just ended for me, as it is only 6:30 am where I am) and for not seeing threads that get posted during my night. I cannot comment on them from out of my sleep...

And now I no longer see the second photo, it seems to have gone, but I like the pp treatment you gave the first one, and I also like to see the awkwardness of climbing such a steep rock face, so if the photo says "awkward" to most, I think it says the very right thing.

Seriously now LaFoto, you couldn't even bother to wake up and comment on my pictures? I'm hurt, I can't belive sleep is more important. :)

I don't know what happend to that 2nd link but it seems to work again now.

Ah yes. It does!
Good.

Now, what is it exactly that you are calling your "PS groove", what is the regular treatment you give your photos these days? I quite like the darker, contrasty outcome and would like to know how you get there.

And sleep is sacrosanct to me!
I'd otherwise DIE, and what about comments on here WITHOUT ME!?!?!? Eh? ;) ;) ;)

Another thought I was having ... I never know this thread's original title, but if it really was something that could make viewers believe there as something "juicier" to be seen than there is to be seen, it may very WELL have attracted many guests from outside, whose views will be counted, but who cannot leave any comments!?!?!?!

Well the title hasn't changed.
I must have screwed something up when I tried to edit it..whatever.

With these in photoshop elements..
I generaly do something like this:

Tweak overall color tone.
A lot of desaturation.
Adjust curves.
Sharpen.
Dodge and burn.
Adjust shadows/highlights.

And then I tend to start tweaking individual spots.. Face, background ect.

*I love the desaturation then curves combo!

I've never used "adjustment layers"
I hear a lot of ppl talk about "adjustment layers" but they seem like a total waste..
I just duplicate layers effect the entire duplicate. And then merge whatever section I want back into the original. It may take a little more time but I prefer having the extra control.

its just a bit dark is all....

and i expected some sort of porn too...
