Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
thinking about selling my XTi and i want to give people a good idea of just how new the camera is, and tell exactly how many pics i've taken. how can i find the 400D/XTi's internal shot counter if it has one? i have read the owner's manual front to back and searched the internet for about an hour straight. i must be missing something.. any help?

You can't. Only the 1D series has the ability for the user to retreive the number of actuations. Possibly Canon could do it if you sent it back to them, but that would probably be a $125.00 charge or so.

Anyone know if this can be done with a Nikon D50?

Opanda iExif will tell you how many exposures your camera has taken.

Nikon maybe. Not Canon.

I remember when the computer made the promise of saving people time. As it turns out, it just spits out miles of data, most of which nobody uses. that's one program I guarantee I won't use.

The Camera Manufacturer dictates what EXIF data is stored/viewable.

Actually it saves me time. I have box full of notebooks in chronological order with data for photos I have taken. What a time consuming job to record all F-stop, Apeture, Shutter Speed, Date, Time and Location. Now it is easily retreivable from the photo.
