Your lens really does show quite a large hotspot. Shame, your camera does a much stronger IR affect than mine.
These are great!
I never noticed it before shooting at f/4 (these were f/8). At least it's so large that it isn't as noticable as it is on other lenses.
(These were taken with the 70-200mm f/4L, BTW.)
Interesting IR images, quite a dark moody look and feel....I like them. I'm lucky, I don't get hot spots with any of my lenses, which includes the 70-200 f4L.
It's strange, I have never noticed it before - I use this lens a lot for IR, usually at f/4 though.
One of these afternoons I want to test all of my lenses for IR hotspots. Wide open, f/4, and f/8. I used to have a bookmark for a website that had all of that, but I can't find it, so I'll just have to do my own test.
