Is it worth to upgrade?

I've been using my camera excessively for the last year and a half or so, and I've come to realize that I use myself most of the time as the model due to it being easier and more convenient.

My camera is the rebel t3, and like you most know, it doesn't allow for wireless remote controls. The only ones it's compatible with are only a couple of feet long. But for my needs, a wireless would be so much better. So my question is:

Is upgrading to a new camera solely for the purpose of the remote control justified and reasonable? If so, what would be the best choice? Just going up to the t3i? I've also been looking around comparing models, so I've also got the 60D in mind as well.

edit: oh and I have two lenses, the 18-55 kit, and the esf 55-250
