Well thats funny, in both of those articles ONLY Canons had water problems... definitely staying Nikon.

Haha It's fine I understand why you said that it was my fault, phrased it wrong, should rush I guess. I'm probably gonna go with the D300s and the 24-70 2.8 if the ISO isnt that much better on the D700. Thanks everyone.

living in Seattle i totaly get the water problem
just recently purchased a D300s have used on a couple of occasions when its rained hard and have had no problems so far though i am manic about keeping stuff clean so usually spend a lot of time cleaning and drying off
if you still have not purchased i can only say i am very pleased with mine and already well familiar with its functions and use after relative short time
