Is this too much for a camara?

Hi, I posted a new thread about my camara earlier, but I have another question about it.
I have a Canon Rebel K2 on lay- away
I dont know all the technicalls about it, I bought it at Henleys Photo, its new and I think he said its a kit, It is 259.99.
Is this a good price for this type of camara.
And will I be able to shoot fast movements, I just want to make sure that I can and will be able to do alot of different things with it.

Adorama seems to have the Rebel K2 with a kit 28-90 zoom for $200.

The body alone is only 135, so I guess it depends upon whether you are getting a $125 lens with it.
