Photos NOT OK to edit
Just did a little ISO test with the A230 using a dimly lit room with wine red walls, brown leather sofa, and a baby doll. Used a tripod and went from 3200 down to 100 using the same 2.8 aperture, but longer shutter time to keep the same exposure. The funny thing is, it appears that ISO 1600 is actually a little bit better than 800. Weird.

Those are totally unedited RAW files.

1600 & under look pretty good to me.

3200 - wow! Thar's some noise!

3200 looks like a bag of di.... Pretty rough.

Have you compared the results at 100% crop?
I say the 800 looks better then 1600.

Yeah, 3200 is pretty worthless. By the way, those are pretty big crops from the original images which are this size:

800 looks better to me. All seems normal

^^^ Is that 3200? If so - I take back what I said, it would still look fine in print.

Hell, it looks fine on the monitor...
