You night shot has a large dark 'hole' at the bottom right side of the photo. Maybe crop it or next time try to compose it so this does not happen.

The pistol does not have an area that is in focus enough to draw one's attention to the area of focus, but I like what you are trying to do.

    The beagle photo is precious

    i love the beagle pic.
the only critique for it is that you might fix the DoF. the nose and eyes of the dog are sharp and the forehead and ears and top of head etc are much softer. perhaps try again having the whole head equally sharp.
    adorable though!
    what camera did u use?

i dont like the composition in no1 and 2 plus i think they are dark, the last one is amazing, the pistol photo i think needed to be shot from a different angle to draw more attenton to it,it also needed to be in focus since it's your main object.

Anytime anyone says "No photoshop work has been done" I usually immediately discount their work. Not doing editing work (even just a little tuning, but PARTICULARLY with night-time photography) means that the image isn't really in a finished and presentable state. You shouldn't show the images that aren't finished unless you are specifically looking for advice on finishing.

    Thanks for all your feedback

yea i was on a hill the black hole is just the hill on the right with no homes or lights on it.. i tried lol thanks though

the shutter was 20 seconds with an ISO of 100 and f-stop of 2 or 3 using 1 18-55mm but yea the picture isnt amazing i just thought i would bring my camera to the location where friends and i were hanging out :p thanks for your feedback

see this is one thing i need help on because i dont understand.. i feel what ever i do the depth of focus is super shallow.. is there a way of making the focus zone bigger?

cool! ill work on it :) thanks man

haha she is a great pup very photogenic

i never thought of it that way.. i like Photoshop and use it all the time but i really would like to produce good photos without the aid of photoshop :/ i add that on my posts just thinking maybe some people would like to know..

Shooting in RAW is not just a badge of honour someone gets to wear. It means that you have decided to take control of how the editing is going to be done, sharpness, saturation and so on, compared to JPG where the camera decides. Hence, you only capture RAW data, that has no processing at all.

Post processing doesn't need to be a laborious task. I often spend under a minute on images as I'm not a fan of heavy processing, but I almost ways am adjusting levels, saturation/vibrance, sharpness and other more basic things.

I'd find a different night shot location, start learning composition and how to use strobed light.

Composition: The Photographers Eye by Michael Freeman and a very basic, but also very usefull book Picture This. How Pictures Work by Molly Bang.
