my hard hat is in my trunk... as well as my protective eye wear... but if i go outside, ill get blown away!!!

Winds of 45mph are nothing. You only get damage with wind speeds over 80mph (which we get here most Winters) unless your house is made of cardboard.
Make sure you tie a brick to your cat so it doesn't blow away, and don't you go out in voluminous skirts - you'll be OK.
