Just getting into photography

just getting back into photography again, as becoming part of my website design work more and more.

I really dig some of those landscape shots. However, I am a sucker for deep blues.

The people shots though, not really feeling those. Come off a bit too soft, lacking in contrast for my liking. I dig BOLD! black and white conversions. Was there any post done on the B&W's? How did you go about it?
