So excited to go out and shoot with this lens. Its supposedly a massive upgrade from my older 1.8D, plus, it autofocuses on my camera!

Quick Question: Does anyone have any experiences with these lens? In this review, the lens seems to hint a bit of the swirly bokeh, which is rather interesting for a modern lens. However, I could not replicate that on my APS-C sensor. I'm guessing the swirly bokeh only occurs (or is noticeable) on the outer edges of the frame that is projected by the lens that isn't covered by the sensor?

Edit: Swirly bokeh could also be seen in this picture here

At which aperture are you shooting? If you shoot at f/16, you won't have much bokeh... Try at f1.8

Aperture ain't everything.
Your distance to subject and lighting will have A LOT to do with your photograph.

Congrats... I adore my 50mm f1.8d, so I know you'll love this improved model.
Thanks! I'm loving it so far! The autofocus is a huge productivity booster plus with the addition of much more pleasing bokeh.

To those wondering (if you like the swirly bokeh), this is how much of it you're going to get on a DX body*
