Hey guys and girls, My name is Mike and I live in Japan. I am not a complete beginner to taking photos but I am still a beginner.

I bought a Lumix about 2 years ago and started shooting but that was broken on in a slight issue on a bus. I have been meaning to buy a new camera for a long time but never dude.

I want to buy another camera this month before going back to the UK for Xmas. What do you guys think of the Nikkon D60? I know it is pretty simple but I think it is a solid camera.

I'd go for it
it's a nice wee camera really

Yeah it seems to be a good camera to start with but I am unsure if the canon is not better.

Did you get the VF lens?

Well I made the purchase. I got a D60 with 2GB card, case, some filters and cleaning cloth for 339 UK. I think it is a bargain. I have been playing with it a lot and reading a lot. I have taken a few nice pictures but nothing I want to display as the ISO rate was 800 and so it is not too clear and maybe a little over exposed.

I will be around for a while learning how to shoot correctly.
