Just starting out

I am just starting to get into photography. I have a BFA and am looking for more creative outlets. I really enjoy beautiful photography. This is a hobby that I love and am looking to get more serious. I have a Canon 40D with a 28-135mm lens. Any sugguestions/comments are welcome. thanks!

#1 is an interesting subject. But it doesn't really do anything for me.
