Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Ok, so i've cropped the kingfisher picture, can anyone give me any advice on how to further improve the quality?

Sorry but this shot it did not come out very well. The bird is not in focus.

A few things to think about.

1) How mush did you crop or resize?
2) When cropping and/or resizing if it is done wrong it will degrade the image.
3) What camera setup and setting are you using?
4) Are you pushing or going beyond your camera limits?
5) Learn how to work with in you camera’s limits.

hmm with a shot like that I would resize the whole photo to something a little smaller - run the unsharpment mask over it again (something like 50-80% at radius 0.8) and then crop out the bird.
You have taken a good sight, but I think not only hit the limits of your skills but also the limits of your kit
I would also be intersted in the answers to Jeff's questions

yeah, i don't think my camera is really made for these types of pictures, i'll post the original and then the cropped version.

hmm I think that your going to have to accpet that they are going to be small shots - cropping out some of the waste space is good as it removes distractions, but I think to get more size out of the bird is not going to happen -- unless you use some powerful photoshopping wizardry!
