Looks a little soft to me and the horizontal crop seems wrong for all the vertical lines.

I can see where you blurred the background...I'd suggest using the magnetic lasso so you don't have those obvious, geometric lines happening...Fun picture though..

What interests me is you are new to photography... and shooting B+W .. I think thats pretty cool.... Most photographers roots begin in B+W ....

but that being said, I don't see this pic as a B+W subject, and also agree with above comment , that it should be vertical...

but someone said also , its a fun photo, and think thats all you were asking for here, was a pic of your friend...

NOOOOOPE!!! i dont like it. looks like sum average person with no experience in photography took a pic of their friend..... but i think even they could do better as the tools things he is holding are blury
