Zoom Nikon Lens, 70-300mm
To be honest, looks like a snapshot. Could be something better though. I think clean your lens first as it seems to have dirt all over it, unless its the wall. Thinking, maybe have the lamp closer to the window so the light is falling on the lamp, not on the wall behind it. The composition looks fine, slightly offset from the centre etc, the horizontal line of the desk? or bedside table keeps your focus back in the frame, if that weren't present your eye would go straight up and down out of the frame.

Think about what you're trying to capture and move around the subject while looking through the viewfinder. You'll eventually "see" something that catches your eye.
This image does look more like a snapshot than something you deliberately tried to capture. May have worked better if you moved to your right and shot from the direction of the light source. The sunlight on the wall is really distracting.
