The two main types of photos I take are landscapes on vacation and group/ individual portraits. I have a Nikon D3200 and a 35mm f/1.8 lens. I usually shoot in aperture priority mode and use a wide aperture for portraits and a narrow one for landscapes. If outdoors I use ISO 200 or so, indoors higher maybe 800. Any other tips for different settings for these types of shots? Thanks.
Landscapes: Circular polarising filter, maximum effect at 90 degrees to the sun. A one stop, graduated neutral density filter; compresses the tonal range between sky and ground.
Portraits: window light (north facing, diffuse). Highest ISO, no noise reduction B&W; intentionally noisy/grainy.
