Are there any good books on Lightroom that I can buy to help me learn how to use it effectively?
I have all of these books near by and handy on the shelf next to my editing work station.
The Digital Negative: Raw Image Processing in Lightroom, Camera Raw, and Photoshop (2nd Edition)
Real World Image Sharpening with Adobe Photoshop, Camera Raw, and Lightroom (2nd Edition)
If you want to find out what all Lightroom has to offer:
The Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic CC Book
If you plan to have prints made, or to make your own prints:
The Digital Print: Preparing Images in Lightroom and Photoshop for Printing
For Photoshop CC:
Adobe Photoshop CC for Photographers: 2016 Edition ― Version 2015.5
And for Camera Raw:
Real World Camera Raw with Adobe Photoshop CS5
I like the book by Martin Evening, "...the Complete Guide for Photographers." He is very rational and presents information in a reasoned manner, not jumping around from subject to subject. I have the Kindle version. Adobe videos with J. Kost are good, too.
YouTube really is your friend when it comes to lightroom and Photoshop
