lens calibration

I just got a Canon 50D and it is the first camera I've had that offers lens calibration.

My pictures seem fine; and I need to know what would be happening if I need my lens(es) calibrated.

If your lenses need calibration, the AF will be off by a constant amount in all shots.

The focus point in the pictures would appear off...you would set the focus point on your subject but in the picture the focus point would either be in the front (front focusing) or in the back (back focusing) of the subject and the subject would be out of focus (OOF).

If you really want to test it, find a focusing test chart. I've been finding that I may be having front focusing issues with my 24-70, but I haven't taken the time to test it yet. Maybe this weekend.
