Lens Compatability?

I just bought a Canon EOS Rebel XTi, digital SLR. I was wondering if the lenses from a Canon T50 would work with this camera? How does one tell if these lenses are and E or and EF-S? Can you use a manual lens with a digital camera? Thanks for any input.

From what i know yeah you can use the old lenses for the new gear, with some restrictions of course.

Isn't the T50 an FD mount camera? EF lenses will not fit then (unless you use an adapter)

Yes Alex is right. Here is a wiki on the camera. If you scroll to the bottom there is a chart with lens mounts on the left. The T50 is a FD mount which means they do not work on the XTi.

Technically, you can use an adapter as Alex points out....but practically, the answer is NO.

why do they complicate their lives and have different mounts...im guessing its so you have to buy a new camera and they make more money haha
