Lens Compatibility

Does anyone know of anywhere that has a compatibility chart to see if a lense will work on a certian camera by the lense number? ie: Makinon Auto Macro Zoom f=28-80mm Lens working on say a Canon whatever.

I have seen lenses for sale on places like eBay and never quite know if they will actually work on any of the equipment. Something like this could be handy if it exists.
