Hi Guys,

I have a canon EOS 300 and am a bit confused as to what lenses will fit it.

I've seen some lenses I'd like, they are for a canon and are FD, will they fit an EOS?

Any chance of a run down of lense types and what the mean

Thanks,
Steve.

FD is not compatible with EOS cameras. They are old manual focus lenses. You need lenses with an EF mount.

There might be an adapter that you can buy to enable the use of FD lenses on EOS cameras, but I don't know.

Excellent, I wasnt sure if an EOS was an FD, EF or AF.

Much Appreciated :)

Like Matt said, you need a lens with an EF mount. But make sure you don't confuse this with EF-S lenses, which are made only for digital cameras that have smaller sensors than 35mm film. Since you have a film cam, only EF lenses will work.
