lens focus

so i got my tokina 12-24mm and this might sound dumb but is it normal that there is no other focus than infinity? i try to focus with the focus ring but nothing change

when i put my camera to AF the focus works.. but when I put it to M, i turn the focus ring but it doesn't move.

Pull the focus ring towards the camera body then adjust as needed.

wow that was so dumb from me!
my solution to this problem was to put the camera on AF, then focus, and after put it back to MF to take the picture.
