Ello I'm going to purchase a Nikon d7100 soon and I needed some lenses to go with it. Here are a list of lenses I was going to get. I would love to hear you alls opinion on them. Thank you :)

Nikon 50mm f1.8D $110.00
Sigma 70-300mm f4-5.6 AP DG Macro $155.00 or Tamron 70-300mm f4-5.6 Di Macro $161.00
Nikon AF-S DX VR-55-200mm f4-5.6G IF ED $164.00
Nikon 10-24mm f3.5-4.5G ED AF-S DX $100.00

I'm not sure what your experience is with cameras and lenses, but generally it is best to purchase one lens and play with it for a while so you can get a perspective of where you are and what you need. The 55-200mm seems like a versatile enough lens to give a large enough playground to play in, so you can gain that maturity in your future purchasing decisions.

I think a 24-85 would be a better range to get your feet wet. They can be had used for less than buying all those others you have listed.

I'd skip the 55-200 because its alot of redundancy with a 70-300

instead of the 55-200 he above idea of a 24-85 would fill your focal length lineup quite nicely
or the kit 18-105 vr is a good fit in there too

Where have you found a nikon 10-24mm for $100? Brand new its a $900 lens. If you've found one, please do link to it so I can snatch one up today myself

Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S4; probably while slacking off at work

The only way a 10-24mm costs $100 is if it's broken. Used those lenses fetch $600+.

For the D7100 I'd recommend:

1) 10-24mm
2) 24-85mm
3) 70-300mm
4) 35mm f 1.8

But before you get a lens it'd be good to know what kind of photography you're interested in.

The more I think about it.....

If you're going to get a d7100, I assume it is available with the 18-105 kit lens. In my honest opinion; you should stop there for a while. This is the advice I wish I had gotten when I got started.

Use the 18-105 until you miss a shot one day that you really want, then come here. Post about it. Ask how to get the shot.

I bet we still find a way to get the shot you want without any more gear for a while. Go back; reshoot the missed shot again.

Next time you miss a new more challenging shot it may be you need a new lens. Maybe its macro. Maybe its a f1.8. Maybe its you need the reach of 300mm.
But until you start lacking the ability to take the photo you want with the lens available to you already dont buy more glass. You're setting yourself up to fail

Here is the URL for the 10-24mm (wide angle lens) (NEW) (from amazon) $100 lens http://lenshero.com/lens/Nikon-10-24mm-f3.5-4.5G-ED-AF-S-DX-lens. I am looking into portrait photography and macro. Also I feel as though I am a qualified photographer and I know almost all the functions of a Nikon d7100 and all the lenses I listed. :) Thank you for all your opinions I greatly appreciate it :)

I apologize for the confusion this website was falsely advertised the lens is $809.00 sorry ;(

$724 on Amazon.com - I just checked going to Amazon.com direct not through a 3rd party site. Note that the link you just posted says its some £500 for me from Amazon (its localizing so I likely can't see the $100 option).

That said no retailer sells something for $100 when it normally retails 7 times that value. Thus that is either a miss-listing that the 3rd party site is reporting on or the Amazon listing had originally - and thus would be corrected and no retailer would honour (most retail sites note that displayed prices are subject to change without warning at any point - to avoid pricing errors from driving them out of business).

Any website claiming such a steep discount and it not being a miss-listing is telling you lies to get your bank account details.

Of the lenses you listed, you can do portrature with the 50mm and 70-300mm. The 55-200mm focal range is already covered with the other two, so that lens purchase would be redundant.
Look at the specs of the two 70-300mm "Macro" lenses. They're not! The best you will get is a close focusing lens. Macro lenses are 1:1 and typically a fixed focal length.
I guess the UWA is for S&G. They're fun to have around, but not much of a work horse unless you're into architectural photography.

Of the two 70-300, I'd suggest the Siggy. I don't have experience with the tamaron, but I absolutely love my Sigma. And I do agree that with the 70-300, there wouldn't be much use in getting the 55-200.
