The city of Moore was doing a fireworks show tonight so we went there to avoid the downtown OKC crowds. It wasn't crowded at all so I managed to get a few shots that I like. I shot most 1 sec. at f/8. It all happened so fast that I couldn't really change settings. I didn't read the tip about shooting with the bulb setting until I got home. Maybe next time. Post your fireworks shots!

Those are beautiful! I took a few myself, but I'm rather disappointed in them...there wasn't enough breeze to carry the smoke away fast enough so it clouded my view on alot of them. *sigh*

Well, I was at the wrong end of the wind! :( So, these are how all of mine look.

Oh well, there will be another occasion for fireworks that I'll be able to shoot. :)

I put a few more in the 'Fireworks Assignment'. I was disappointed with my images this year. This was the first time I tried them with a dSLR and my exposure times were too long, I think.

All shot with Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 f13 on bulb setting ~2 sec.

Wow that is a lot of smoke... bummer. But like you said there will be other occasions.

nice photos guys. Wanted to bring my camera to the show, but has no tripod! Bummer.

I tried 2 secs. at one point but found it was too long for me also. All the pictures I got at 2 secs. were blurry so I switched back to 1 sec. I'll probably try the same settings again next time.

Brianne, your shots are beautiful!

Things happened too fast for me to really evaluate the images. I should have blown up the first couple on the LCD and looked closely, but oh well .... next time ... you seem to have hit it on target ... Good Job!

Excellent shootin y'all. diggin this thread
