I was about 2-3 seconds too late noticing this one fly overhead.

Remember folks, keep your eyes moving at all times!

Equipment:
Nikon D300s | Sigma 18-250

Settings:
Focal Length: 250mm
Shutter Speed: 1/2000
Aperture: f/6.3
ISO: 400

Really ticks me off because my shutter speed and focal length could have captured this BIF quite nicely as he was just gliding over.

Another lesson learned and hopefully not repeated too many times!

I had around hundred photos like your :lol: I guess the biggest difference is you have some with the hawks as well, right?
But yes, it could be very nice photo if...

I have 2 hawks that hunt from a tree in my back yard. They are probably just under 100ft up. I've been trying for months but haven't been able to get a sharp shot (perched or in flight). I think I need a bigger lens. :er:
