Less of a picture than yesterday's landscape, but a better illustration of how this unique area is criss-crossed with lovely drystone walls and dotted with old barns. The elongated fields and farms stretch from the flatter pasture land by the river (out of shot below the lowest trees), to the higher rough grazing, ensuring that each farmer has a share of the good and the not so good! The highest land, as on the day of this photograph, is often shrouded in cloud.

Nice...I just have to wonder how long it took to gather all the stones and build those walls?

Thanks for the comments Chris, Michaelaw & Simon. This shot was taken with a 300mm (35mm equiv.) lens rested on a drystone wall high up on the opposite side of the valley. The scene is about a mile away at the nearest point.

Regards, Tony
