The rocks down look distractive in lightness, should i crop them out?

If the mermaid was your focus then there needs to be less distractions in your photo, like you said the bottom rocks frame your image some what but distract from your main subject.

I think that if you took all of the bottom rocks out, it would change the entire picture and take away from it. I do think that they are distracting so if you crop it, I would make the bottom of your crop cut the rock line in half. If that makes any sense. That way you would still have the bottom rocks but they would only show in the bottom corner of the picture. It's a good shot though.

I agree with Hobbes, leave some of the rocks, perhaps crop in between the two rocks that are sticking up a bit. I would also like to either have the mermaid a complete shilouette or have more detail in the face.
