    Hi all,

what do you think of this one? I think I like the composition, but wish the horse wasn't wearing his sweatband :p

    D70, 50-500mm @ 500mm (handheld, steadied on a fence)
    f/9.5, 1/200sec
Somewhere up near Limantour on the California coastline

    Cheers,

    Leeko

Yes. I do share your opinion on that ... what is it called again? "Sweatband"? Yes, the fact that the scene presented itself for you like this sort of ... ruins is too strong a word here but ... has a not-so-good influence on an overall very nice and well composed photo ... why, by the way, qualifies PERFECTLY for the Landscape and Nature Forum, to where it will move as soon as my fingers will stop typing this  !

    Hi,

this hoss was so far away, I didn't even realise it was wearing the headgear until I got back home and looked on screen (it was shot @ 500mm). My first thought was "aaaw, that's ruined a perfectly good pic", and I briefly toyed with the idea of photoshopping it out  But then I remembered that I'm rubbish in photoshop, and can't paint for toffee :blushing:

LaFoto - sorry, I'll think a bit harder about where Im posting in future ;). Just in too much of a rush to get the pics out there, is all... :lmao:

    Best regards,

    Leeko

    It is a nice composition.

I'm not sure if the cover/screen is called a sweatband- they're used to keep flies off of the horses eyes. Bugs can cause some nasty problems.

I like the composition a lot! the road in the background closes the composition and adds a lot to the perspective :D good catch!
