look at these flowers in macro!

hey guys and girls,
here are some photographs i took the other day some flowers that are actually only about 1cm across or about half an inch. comments are all apprectiated, good and bad.

How did you do these?
Reversed lens macro?
The DOF is very shallow (as would also be the case when you turn around the lens), and they are a tad on the dark side. Not "The Darkside", but --- you KNOW.

I think I like the last best but find that darkest where the flower is - and doubt you can just easily brighten it up overall, since that'd blow the light spot...
