Taken during a NOPE Task Force Inc. presentation at my school.
This organization talks about drug overdoses, and trys to prevent them from happening to students. The woman talking lost her son due to a overdose. This is probably one of the hardest things I ever had to watch. Left and right I seen students leaving crying. It was hard listening to the parents stories, and my heart goes out to them. After leaving this presentation I heard students laughing about this and thinking overdoses only happen in movies, I think its funny how ignorant some people can be.

Tell me what you think about the picture, and my try at some photo journalism.

If your subject is the kids they are just dark silhouettes. All the attention is being drawn up front - the lights, the angle - except it's out of focus and we can't tell what's going on outside of two people on a stage.

the point so to have the students in view and the woman talking
just to show it from the student view
i wanted to try something diffrent

well, I can't tell whether or not I'm supposed to critique the picture or if I'm being pitched to about "NOPE". Don't get me wrong, from what you explained it seems like a well-intentioned organization.

As far as the photo, it doesn't do anything for me, sorry. Just like Rob said, the kids are just dark silhouettes and the speakers are blurry and blown out. Also, this might go better in the Photojournalism section.

^^^ +1

Not to mention that 2 hours is quite a short interval to wait for replies...
