Went bike riding today and spotted this guy in a protected park area here in the city called Fish Creek. I am refering to Calgary, Alberta CANADA
I have seen 3 other wild garters before, but something seems odd about this particular fellow? Is this a color morph or something???
I shot a few pics and let him get back to his day.

    Also got this cool macro

I thought the day could not get any better till I saw this weird creature run in front of me and duck into it's hole. I pulled the camera out and zoomed in as tight as possible to get these cool shots. Little did I know it was a mother with her baby. Some sort of weasel I am guessing

Blinking heck that was a good day - snake, great butterfly and a weasle type thingy with baby all in one day!!

And great shooting as well - snake shots are all very sharp and clear - good lighting for them! I am assuming that part of the quality to the butterfly shot is that you applied no massive edit to it and that is luck and impressive to get - usually that sort of look is got through a lot of editing so well done there again.
The weasle and baby had bright light, but you have exposed very well - a few white areas that are glaring just a little, but I think a run over with the burn tool would restor them well and they are not that distracting in a bright shot - besides the sight alone is a brilliant capture!

Good work and a great day out!

Beautiful! The detail on the snake and color of his tongue is very well done, and that 'weasel thing' is adorable!

    Wow
Thanks guys for all the responses and constructive critisim it helps me a great deal.
The coolest part is that these were all shot on my old 3.2 Mp camera with no editing at all. It seems I had mastered the manuel mode. However I just invested In the Canon 450d so I hope it will only get better.

    Thanks Again!
