For those who don't know, I'm a cheapskate. Stopped at a local pawnshop on the way home tonight. Talked him down to 150.00 (tax included) out the door. Think I did well. Has another camera I'm interested in. May ask your opinions on it. Sorry for the point and shoot photos, but I was pretty stoked!

I have an earlier version of the Tamron 90 AF-SP macro...good lens...your is a newer version, and is likely even better! Di is their for-digitial designation, from some time back.

Well, over the years I found out that being a cheapskate when it comes to lenses doesn't really pay off, but as long as it fits your needs, congrats :)

Good to know. I hope it's better. Find out shortly.

Know that all too well. Maybe I should rephrase that. I really enjoy finding a good deal. It's not the best macro lens on the market, but this is just a hobby. Very confident I can get my money back if I don't like it.

Nice find! but the proof of the pudding is in the eating. Hows the IQ?

Knew that was coming. Unfortunately, I'm working 11-12 hour days right now. And the last 3 or 4 days have been cloudy and raining.

Couple nights ago it finally stopped raining. The sun came out, but it was going down fast. Ran over to an outdoor arboretum. Dummy me, forgot the monopod and the wind picked up. These are handheld, sooc.

When I tried to get closer, he jumped.

These came out pretty good.

This was the best I could do with real close up shots with the wind and handheld.

With a single focus point, this lens is pretty picky. You can get the front of the flower...

Or the back of the flower.
