I currently have this display:
Acer X223W 22 Widescreen LCD Monitor - 1680x1050, 2500:1, 5ms, DVI, VGA, (Refurbished) at TigerDirect.com
And this GPU:
Acer X223W 22 Widescreen LCD Monitor - 1680x1050, 2500:1, 5ms, DVI, VGA, (Refurbished) at TigerDirect.com
I mostly use my PC for photo editing. I do professional photography part-time on the side.
Everything works fine, and the display is a solid workhorse. But...
My wife has an iMac, with a 24" 1920x1080 display, and everything just looks sharper and cripser and brighter. Then we went to Best Buy, and I saw the new 5k retina display.
So now I'm looking for advice on a new display. I checked into 4k displays a bit, but from what I understand, they're difficult to read, and they're buggy, and the technology just isn't there yet.
So I'm thinking about this, or something like it:
ASUS PB Series PB278Q 27" 5ms (GTG) WQHD HDMI Widescreen LED Monitor 300 cd/m2 80,000,000:1 Built-in Speakers - Newegg.com
So my questions are:
1. Will an IPS display with 2560x1440 be a noticeable improvement from my TN 1680x1050
2. Is Asus the way to go?
3. Will I need a new GPU?
Thank you!
