Hi there! I am looking for some information and feedback, and thought a photo forum would be a good place to start! I hope this is the right place for it, please feel free to move it if it isn't. Anyway, I am a big photography fan, and am trying to learn all I can about techniques that go beyond the basic digital or 35mm process. I found this local photographer, whose work really impresses me. http://www.mondragonfineart.com http://www.mondragonfineart.com/workflow.htm He uses film to capture landscape and nature scenes, then scans them into digital format to retouch at an intricate level, and then prints them large scale. I saw some photos in person, and the sheer detail and perfection in a large size was inspiring. There wasn't the grain, or pixelation, that you would expect from that size. I would love to be able to try something similar some day. Do you know of any other photographers who use this system? Musically, I am a fan of combining digital and analog technologies to get the best of both worlds, but hadn't considered it much in the photography world until now... at least not at this large scale. What do you think about the site and his photos? I'd love to hear your input on that as well. I know I'm new here, but thanks so much for the time and help! When I get some more free time, I hope to add some of my own photos for feedback! Thanks so much!
